Steve Harris (5 for 34) leads Devon O'60' 2nd XI to victory v Glos by 19 runs

It was a thriller, as Devon only posted 157 for 9, and this was Captain, Dave Amery in charge for the last time...a little rain affected to start with, but openers Sheps (34) and Clarke (15) got the side off to a relatively good start, and progreesed to 71 for 2, with Kennard (19) and A. Rose (20) then Hart (18) and a little 'cameo' from Pyle (13 n.o.) but was this enough?...Indeed it was, although it must be said, a few catches went amiss, as second change bowler Steve Harris, removed all of Gloucestershires middle order with a very well deserved (5 for 34) two for Amers (2 for 28) and one each for Kennard & Price, with Glos wanting 23 off the last two overs which they couldn't manage...Devon winners by 19 runs, and meet Cheshire (away) next week, and Buckinghamshire the week after.

BOWLING:  Pyle 9 1 32 0...Price 8 0 23 1...Harris 9 0 34 5...Kennard 9 5 16 1...Amery 9 2 28 2...A.Rose 1 0 3 0

* Dave Amery 'bows out' now after 3 yrs as Captain of the O'60's 2nd XI, our grateful thanks for a job well done!

** ALSO our sincere thanks to Barbara Amery & Barry and his team, for the organisation at SDCC for this season.
