MESSAGE FROM THE TREASURER

Now that the lockdown regulations are to continue until 19 July I propose that we continue to charge match fees of £10 for home matches and £5 for away matches as at present. The only exception is if the club at away fixtures provides teas (as some clubs are now doing) players pay a match fee of £10 to cover the costs.  After 19 July when normal arrangements should apply, match fees will be £12 as previously agreed at the 2019 AGM. Captains please note when completing collection sheets.

Payment of match fees - We have had a case recently when some players said they would pay match fees online. Subsequently not all did and this has caused extra work for officials. In addition it left the captains short of the necessary money on the day to pay all expenses at the end of the match, again creating an extra amount of work for your treasurer. Please ensure you can pay match day fees in cash on the day to help the club remain efficient and to fulfil its commitments to our host clubs and officials.

Subscriptions - many thanks to the majority of players who have paid their subscriptions. However I note that some who are representing the County have yet to pay their subscription. Please sort this with your captain at the next fixture or pay online with your name and reference subs. Subscriptions should be settled by the end of June after which consideration will be given to including other members who have paid their subscriptions but as yet have not been selected. If you have not done so, please avoid embarrassment by paying your £10 as quickly as possible.

Treasurer

Are the days numbered for the sound of leather on willow!

The news media are all full of reports that new bats made from bamboo are set to threaten our familiar 'thwack' of leather on willow...

Maybe it will! ...but if you want to read behind the headlines:

A message from the Treasurer...

At the recent Committee meeting, as was agreed at the AGM, we reviewed match fee arrangements for the early part of the season while COVID restrictions are in place. It was decided that match fees will be £10 for home games, and £5 for away games. In recognition of players having increased travel costs for away matches, and to make it easier for Captains to collect match fees (in notes preferably)  we decided on the above sums. Please help Captains by having the correct amount.

May I remind you that Club subscriptions are now due...just £10 to be a member. Thanks to those that have already paid and I look forward to receiving the rest before too long, preferably by bank transfer (details on website under contacts)  with an accompanying Email or Cash/Cheque can be paid at nets or the first match.

Thanks, Andy Rose.
