Two Committee Members retire at the AGM
Danny Daniels our Fixture Secretary will retire at the forthcoming AGM after serving from November 2012. Danny has always carried out his duties meticulously & has ensured that wherever possible we have played our games on the best available grounds on the days the various competitions direct & has always consulted with the captains & committee. Our contact & cooperation with the various clubs & fixture secretaries have continued to expand & Danny has played a very big role in this.
He has also excelled in his role as a Devon Seniors umpire for many years & we hope that this will continue
We are all extremely grateful for his commitment to Seniors Cricket in the county which is expanding year by year and we hope that he will continue to follow & support seniors cricket in the county for years to come.
Stuart Lott our Secretary has served since November 2002 but will retire after 14 years continuous service at the forthcoming AGM. Stuart has been an incredible loyal servant to Seniors Cricket being not only the longest current playing member but has also captained one of the senior teams & has been a stalwart of Seniors Cricket overseeing the advancements in the playing structures from just one team to the four teams that we now have playing in the various competitions.
He was also instrumental in overseeing the formation of a properly proposed & elected committee & the advancement of our club constitution & everything to do with Seniors Cricket.
He has quietly but efficiently ensured that the club is run on a day by day basis & played a major in the incredible strides taken since those early days in 2002.
Not only has he been an ever present in the Senior sides but has played a massive part in the on field success being part of the last Over 50 s National Championship winning team & also representing England at Over 60s & Over 70s.
Hopefully his playing career will continue & that Devon Seniors cricket will continue to benefit from a man who has given so much to Senior Cricketers in this county
His presence & wit will be greatly missed at future committee meetings & we all wish him well for the future.
